Is your sick house making you sick?

Medical experts estimate that over 60 million people in the U.S. suffer from respiratory problems such as asthma, hay fever, acute or chronic bronchitis or other aggravating complications.

Most people are aware that outdoor air pollution can damage their health but many do not know that indoor air pollution can also have significant health effects. Environmental Protection Agency studies of human exposure to air pollutants indicate that indoor levels of pollutants may be 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels! What’s worse is that most people spend about 90% of their time indoors. That’s why it is critical to make sure the air in our homes is free of pollution.

The room by room solution to indoor air pollution
Physicians recommend using true HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filtration to lower the levels of these airborne contaminants. We’ve evaluated every room air purifier on the market and recommend the Austin Air. They are the best you can buy. Use one in the bedroom, baby’s room, den, office or anywhere else you want to dramatically reduce dust and breathe cleaner air.

Solid steel construction for durability
Every Austin Air system is constructed of solid steel, welded together to prevent any rattle caused by motor vibration. The paint used is an powder coating which is baked on at 450° Fahrenheit. This process eliminates any odor or gas emissions and increases durability. Motors that can run cool 24 hours a day and cost about the same to operate as a 90-watt light bulb!

The Austin Air and Austin Air Jr. run on split capacitor motors so they cost 50% less to operate than most other air purifier motors. The motor is capable of running around the clock without overheating. The motors in both units are also top mounted, giving you a quiet running system. Inside you’ll find a true HEPA filter with activated carbon and Zeolite in rock form.

Why does the Austin Air Cleaner use activated carbon?
Activated carbon is the best known substance for removing gases and odors. The best source of activated carbon is a coconut shell. This is what is used in the Austin Air Cleaner. It can remove up to 60% of its weight in odors and gases. Activated carbon is the most common element in military gas masks. The Austin Air Cleaner uses a minimum of 13.5 pounds of coconut shell activated carbon and Zeolite to remove odors and gases. The HEPA, activated carbon, and Zeolite are combined into one large cartridge that weighs about 19 pounds.

The HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filter was developed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to filter out sub-micron particles. All true HEPA filters are laser tested and must remove a minimum of 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 microns in size. A human hair is about 300 times too big to pass through a HEPA filter.

What is Zeolite? What does it do and why is it important that
it is in rock form?

Natural Zeolite is mined from the earth. It is a cream-colored mineral. Zeolite has exceptional abilities for capturing small molecules such as ammonia, formaldehyde and sulfides. When left in its rock form, it provides a much more absorbent media base for odors and gases.

How do I know if the filter needs to be changed?
(Can last up to 5 years depending on conditions) Airflow becomes restricted through the clean air exhaust. Changing the filter is simple too. Just turn the unit upside down, remove the four retaining screws holding the bottom on, lift off the bottom panel and lift out the old filter cartridge. Replace it with the new filter and screw on the bottom panel.

Doctors not only recommend the Austin Air to their
patients, they use them!

“Personally, I’ve tried other air purifiers, and find that the Austin is superior in every category. Also, my patients often comment on the dramatic improvement in overall air quality since using the Austin.”
- Dr. B., Batesburg, SC

“My wife and I enjoy the whisper quiet operation. Her trips to the hospital for sinus headaches and related problems have decreased dramatically since using the Austin.”
- Dr. R.Y., Chandler, AZ

“The Austin is very useful in combating allergy related problems. I have one at home for my own mold spore sensitivity.”
- Dr. L.G., Bronx, NY

Austin Air Owners love them too!
“I am writing to tell you how pleased I am with my Austin Air filter. I developed
asthma about 8 years ago and have been suffering with it ever since. My worst reactions are to dust, mildew, smoke and chemicals. Two years ago my doctor suggested that I get an air filter as part of my environmental controls. I did a lot of research, checking all the different brands. The Austin Air had more HEPA filtration, more carbon and a better warranty than any of the others. And it was lightweight and easy to move from one room to another. Now that I’ve used it, I can tell you that it also outperforms the others. I would highly recommend the Austin Air filter to anyone who had respiratory problems or to anyone who simply wants cleaner air in their environment.”
—A.C., Marietta, GA

“These are the fourth and fifth Austin Air cleaner units that I’ve bought for my home. My daughter and I are both environmentally ill with multi-chemical sensitivities and these are great air purifiers! Keep up the good work.”
—C.K., Tempe, AZ
